2012 Infiniti M35 hybrid Guinness World Records

Guinness World Records has certified the 2012 Infiniti M35h as the world’s fastest full-hybrid car. The car rocketed through a quarter-mile run in an average of 13.9 seconds over multiple runs.

Adjudicators from Guinness World Records were on hand to help verify the world record, which will be listed in the 2013 Guinness Book of Records.
The Infiniti M35h is officially the quickest production hybrid car ever sold, as recognized by Guinness World Records. That time is an average of the official timed runs it did on the day; its fastest single run was 13.8960 seconds.

The record was undertaken at the famous Santa Pod raceway, with motoring journalist Tim Pollard behind the wheel and officials from Guinness World Records present.

Hybrids aren't just for granola-snacking Birkenstock wearers anymore, and Infiniti is on a mission to prove it with the 2012 M35h hybrid. We already knew the M35h was quick; Infiniti claims a 5.5-second 0-62 mph time.
By way of comparison, Infiniti notes the 1966 Shelby Cobra's quarter mile time of 13.5 seconds, which also matches the 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO's time.
