Citroen takes DS3 electric to Paris Motor Show

DS3 electric
Even if it was only for the image, any manufacturer who wants to go with the flow introduces an electric city car. Citroen has just looked at the C-Zero spoons but the electric drive is now in the popular DS3.

Why not combine a hip look with an equally trendy powertrain. Electric driving is indeed omnipresent and starts getting further its role in the margin steps. Citroen was one of the first manufacturers in 2010, an all-electric car to the market, the C-Zero. This was partly due to his different looks and high price anything but a commercial success. Citroen has learned and is now its flagship in the compact segment, the DS3 as guinea pigs used for the electric future.

Electrum
DS3 Electrum baptized should this car be the hoped for results and sales bounce. Although it is still a concept concerned is of course a simple addition that this electrical Frenchman just comes. With two 65 kW electric motors, the DS3 up to 120 km without the playful character. Also of space is wasted because the two battery packs are so disposed that the interior just as many liters count as a normal DS3. About production plans is nothing announced but expect the DS3 Electrum not for the summer of 2013.

Admiring the DS3 is in two weeks at the Paris Motor Show.
