Volvo’s V60 sportswagon package will be unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show

Hybrid car seems indeed to be a trend among the world’s automotive manufacturers. Recently, Volvo is now owned Geely, car manufacturers from China, reportedly intends to launch a hybrid version of the V60 wagon, the plug-in in March. This car was developed in cooperation with energy suppliers Vattenfall Sweden. This car also has a six-speed automatic
transmission--Volvo claims that, CO2 emission levels produced no more than 50 grams per kilometer.

The V60 Plug-in Hybrid returns the equivalent of 124 miles per gallon--Driving range on pure battery power is about 30 miles.
Volvo Cars said it will begin selling its new V60 Plug-in Hybrid, a diesel-electric sport wagon, in 2012. Volvo describes the show car as "virtually production-ready." The V60 Plug-in Hybrid also features a 70-hp electric motor and a 12 kWh battery pack, with power sent to the rear axle--Volvo said it developed the hybrid system in cooperation with Swedish energy supplier Vattenfall.

The new electric/turbo-diesel hybrid engine will be an option on Volvo’s V60 sportswagon, sold in Europe, and the package will be unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show in the March. If time is a priority in your search as well as interior space, you should consider existing models like the Ford Escape Hybrid SUV or Toyota Camry Hybrid. Both offer more cargo space than the many subcompact hybrids on the market, while remaining on the “Affordable” side of the hybrid market.
