2012 Tata Nano EV electric vehicle

When it arrives on the market in 2012, the Tata Nano EV could well be Europe's least expensive EV, priced from well under $10,000.

As shown here, the Nano EV shares its super-polymer lithium-ion batteries with the Indica Vista EV, Tata's first electric vehicle.

We will progressively introduce electric vehicles in all relevant markets."
Tata expanded its foray into alternative fuels at the Geneva Motor Show. The electric Nano runs on the same "super polymer lithium ion batteries" seen on the Tata Indica Vista EV. Tata told reporters in Geneva that the Euro-spec Tata Nano will come to market in 2011. "Electrification will be an integral part of our initiative to launch environment-friendly vehicles," said Tata Motors executive Ravi Kant. We will progressively introduce electric vehicles in all relevant markets."

Based on the Tata Nano platform, the Nano EV is expected to expand the company’s portfolio of electric vehicles, which has the Tata Indica Vista EV.
The electric Nano is capable of carrying four individuals. Tata continues its approach with the Tata Nano EV, using super polymer lithium ion batteries, as in the Tata Indica Vista EV, which provides superior energy density to conventional batteries.
