The Japanese automaker has already made public last June, that the next Paris Motor Show, we could enjoy the hybrid version of the Mitsubishi Outlander. The new Mitsubishi hybrid Outlander appears under the name of PHEV, earning the honor of being the first electric vehicle with a permanent four wheel drive system.

For now, of course, know many of the details of the SUV, but we know that their autonomy in electric mode can reach 55 km and, if combined with the combustion engine, it can go up to 880 miles without refueling or refills, which can be done in any conventional point, as the Mercedes Class B Tesla.

Engines and performances
Beforehand leaves the PX-MiEV II concept, where appears the iMiEV, so the production model has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, a 12 kW battery lithium-ion and two electric motors: one front and rear.

Both produce 82 hp and up to 195 Nm of torque. In terms of efficiency, Mitsubishi expects a fuel economy rating of 1.6 l/100 km combined some numbers that will surprise even the most exceptive.

To achieve these impressive figures, the model has three different operating modes:
• Pure: Only electric
• Series: With electric motors running the gasoline engine to recharge the batteries
• Parallel: electric and gasoline motors working together

First, market entry is assumed in its home country, Japan, in early 2013. Later, we will see in European showrooms but will have to wait until the second half of next year, as well as in the U.S. and other international automobile market.
